Agnostic, in this context, has nothing to do with religion or the lack thereof. It is simply a survey instrument which asks people's level of agreement or otherwise with a list of propositions, and does statistical analysis on them without any a priori assumptions about which questions correspond to which "axes" in some sort of n-dimensional model of public opinion.
This survey was inspired by the Nolan Chart, the Pournelle Chart, the Political Compass™ and the Find Your Philosophy Quiz. One difference is that with this Agnostic Ideology Sorter a method of scoring has not yet been developed, so the report you will receive if you take the survey will simply be a list of those previous entries that are most similar to yours.
In the interest of crowdsourcing and collaboration, the survey responses are made available to the public. Hopefully novel pattern recognition techniques will yield interesting insights.
Non-privacy policy
This website does not record IP addresses of visitors, and neither does its hosting provider. No registration is necessary, and all entries are anonymous. The raw data representing survey responses are, however, made public. Please do not include any personal identifying information in the name you choose to describe your school of thought. Understand that your responses to this survey, while anonymous, will be released into the public domain! If this is not OK with you, please do not continue.
